Dialysis services expanded in Hulhumale with opening of new 30-bed center

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu today officially inaugurated a new 30-bed dialysis center established under Hulhumale Hospital, significantly expanding dialysis services in the area. The facility, located at Orange Hiya, was opened at a special ceremony held this afternoon.
The center will now operate in three shifts, allowing up to 150 patients to receive dialysis treatment each day, a major increase from the previous capacity of just 10 beds. The original dialysis unit at Hulhumale Hospital has been closed, and all services have been relocated to the new facility situated in front of Treetop Hospital.
According to Ibrahim Haleem, CEO of the Male' City Group of Hospitals, the center is designed to handle emergency cases and was developed to meet the increasing demand for dialysis services. Hulhumale Hospital currently serves approximately 300,000 patients annually.
The construction of the new dialysis center was contracted to Medtech and Medicom in February, with each company setting up 15 beds.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Health Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim and senior officials from the Male' Group of Hospitals. Following the event, President Muizzu toured the new facility to inspect the services and infrastructure.
