Maldives Police Service (MPS) said the agreement signed between MPS and Egypt’s Ministry of Interior involves collaboration in training programmes, sharing resources, and exchanging information. The MoU was signed by Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed on behalf of the Maldives, while Egypt was represented by General Mahmoud Abu Amra, Deputy Minister for Public Security and Head of the Supreme Council of the Police.
The Commissioner of Police undertook an official visit to Egypt from 17 to 21 of this month, during which discussions were held on strengthening cooperation, information exchange and expanding training opportunities between the two countries.
