JP has filed a case to Inter Parliamentary Union regarding the parliament session on no confidence vote of the speaker.
Speaking at a press conference held at M.Kunooz today the head of JP’s foreign relations committee, Dr.Asim said that during the session held to take a no confidence vote against the speaker there were many questionable things. He said that many unlawful activities occurred during the session.
In addition, he said that during the parliament session some, members were not given the opportunity to talk and JP is concerned about it. Dr.Asim said that after the vote MPs of JP including Qasim Ibrahim, Ali Hussain, and Abdullah Riyaz are being intimidated by different government institutions and that should not happen.
Dr.Asim noted that even though that the government says that the procedure of that day’s session was in accordance with the law, countries like USA has voiced concern regarding the parliament session. Dr.Asim also said that government only getting 48 votes in favor of the government than the usual 60 votes is a huge message.
