Hajj Corporation to acquire IATA license next year

The Hajj Corporation requires the IATA license to ease the difficulties Maldivians face in acquiring the visa to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Umra pilgrimage. Yamin Idris – the managing director of the corporation – said that all the required documents to attain the license have already been sent to IATA. It will take some time to process the documents, he added. “We hope that IATA will grant us the license by next Ramadan,” Yamin said. Cyprea was the only Maldivian company that IATA had issued to. However, due to some administrative issues, Cyprea was unable to renew their license with the association. This resulted in the Maldivian Hajj Groups having to acquire visas to go to Saudi Arabia from Sri Lanka.
