Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated the visits to assess the living standards of the residents who had applied for flat requests، is getting delayed due to the request form re-check process.
Earlier، Housing Ministry had stated that teams will be visiting the residences of those who had requested for flats، in order to assess and evaluate their living standards. The process was expected to start back in July.
According to the delay، Dr. Muizzu had stated that the re-check process of over 14،000 submitted forms was underway in order to clear out any confusions or any errors before the process started initially.
A total of 15،650 forms were submitted when the Ministry had opened for the sheltering project’s form submission period.
“We are trying to identify any mistakes from any where of the process، currently about 4000 to 5000 forms remained unchecked. We are searching for volunteers who will be visit the residences once the form re-checking process is concluded” Dr. Muizzu stated.
Minister had added that the volunteers will be thoroughly trained before they are sent off for the evaluation process، as their responsibility is to cross check information written in the submitted forms through real-life experience based on their visits، they must be fully acquainted with the process.
Dr. Muizzu adds that the construction process of 700 flats by a Chinese corporation is currently speeding towards a conclusion، with several of the flats already through construction process. However the flats contracted to an Indian company seems to have experienced an idle period، as they had officially started the construction process a week back.
Under the sheltering project، both foreign companies are contracted with the construction of a total of 1،185 flats.
