Jumhooree Party leader, Gasim Ibrahim has said that the MVR 24.3 billion state budget projected for the coming year shows that the government wants to do a lot of services to the people.
Gasim said that all of the members have been talking about the importance of the 2015 budget.
“This is something we should agree on without a shadow of a doubt. So in general I do not want to go into the details. The budget in reality is a figure. It is those numerals. It is the income generated and the expenditure. In this regard, the projects are mentioned,” he said.
He said that if the 100 million dollars which is expected to be generated through the Special Economic Zone is really generated then it will be a remarkable success and progress.
Gasim said that the government was going towards direct tax earlier but now indirect tax are also included according to the budget to generate the hundreds of million Ruffiya.
With regards to the debt, he said that he does not want to go into much details but that it is again a deficit budget.
“I do agree that what needs to be done for the development and progress needs to be done even through a deficit budget,” he said.
