Madhrasathul Ahmadhiyya has been revamped into Ahmadhiyya International School.
The ceremony held to celebrate this was officiated by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom last night.
The President said that Ahmadhiyya is a school which has achieved many remarkable successes throughout its history.
He said that the school started with about 200 students and now the school has more than 2000 students.
President noted the hard work and efforts of the founder of the school Dr. Ahmed Didi. He thanked Dr. Ahmed Didi and everyone who has helped Ahmadhiyyah.
Ahmadhiyya is among the first private school in Maldives which got the first place in Cambridge O'level exam in Maldives.
The school is the official school of Machangoalhi, one of the wards(districts) of Malé and is run by the Machangoalhi Ward Office. The foundation was laid down by former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom on 4 June 1979 and upon completion, he once again availed himself on 21 February 1982 to declare open Madhrasathul Ahmadhiyya.
Ever since Madhrasathul Ahmadhiyya was established, the school’s primary challenge is to prepare their students for academic excellence with a strong character and discipline. As the rolling years demand, the school has equipped their students to take up the ever changing world’s challenges with greater responsibility to lead the rest.
