The procedure was carried out during a special medical camp conducted by a team of specialists from Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) between Thursday and today.
Dr. Abdullah Ubaid, a general and laparoscopic surgery specialist who was part of the visiting team, highlighted that expanding advanced surgical procedures to regional hospitals is a critical step toward strengthening healthcare accessibility across the atolls. He expressed optimism that more laparoscopic surgeries will soon become routine in hospitals outside the capital.
