Handover of 4000 housing units completed, barring those in special circumstances

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has stated that except for those in special circumstances, keys for apartments in social housing towers developed by FDC have been handed over to recipients.
FDC has detailed that of the 4,000 housing units, 3,850 people have signed the agreement, and keys were handed over to 3,647 individuals.
The coporation has detailed that the due to special circumstances, some of those who signed the agreement have been unable to collect the apartment keys. For instance, some recipients were abroad during the collection period.
In addition to this, the handover of keys for some apartment units have been paused under the directive of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure for further inspection. As part of this, application documents will be verified for 112 apartments.
As the keys for apartments have been handed over, a large number of families are already living in these social housing units.
FDC has informed that at present, the greatest priority is developing the commercial areas of these buildings. Each tower has large spaces dedicated for this purpose, with allocations for food and beverage shops, health clinics, and other essential services for residents. Interior works are currently ongoing for some commercial spaces.
Amaan Dhoadhi and Amaan Udhares consist of 32 towers, with retail shops and a supermarket to be established in this area.
These towers were constructed in Hulhumale’ Phase two, with essential services to be provided, divided into six zones. FDC has planned to develop at least one supermarket or hypermarket in each area.
Produce markets are being developed at a 10-minute walking distance. Specialised units will be established for cafés, restaurants and banking services, FDC has stated. Pharmacies, health clinics and wellness centres will also be developed for each 10-minute walking distance.
