The new ambassador of Italy to the Maldives، Paolo Andrea Bartorelli، new Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Maldives، has called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon.
During the meeting، Foreign Minister Dunya welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment.
Foreign Minister Dunya also noted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and Italy، and discussed ways of further strengthening the existing ties between the two countries، especially in the area of climate change.
The Ambassador assured his commitment to working with the Government in strengthening the relations between the two countries and increasing cooperation between the two countries in various areas of mutual benefit.
The new ambassador presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen yesterday. During the meeting with the new ambassador، President highlighted the importance of all countries working together to combat the global terrorism.
