China’s 66th national day celebrated

A special ceremony was held in Hotel Jen to mark the 66th national day of China.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed was the chief guest of the ceremony. Senior officials of the Government, foreign diplomats and senior officials of the tourism sector attended the function.
Speaking in the ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Fu Kang stated that People’s Republic of China was formed in 1949 by Chairman Mao and that had been the start Chinese development and global success. He credited China’s success to the strong leadership and initiatives created by the Communist Party leadership. He also noted the hard work of Chinese citizens in ensuring this vision was actualized.
Wang added that China was the second leading nation in GDP performance and foreign investment and the leading nation in international business. He also said that china was attaining significant successes internationally and locally.
Ambassador said that 2015 was a challenging year for Chinese economy. However, he noted that the economy had been upheld with resulting 7 percent increase in GDP. He assured that china will continue to implement changes to meet the challenges to the economy and will rise to greater success. Wang added that China intends and will share their success with global partners to ensure mutual growth.
