Amendment that will nullify party membership without fingerprint passed

The parliament has passed an amendment on the political party legislation، that will nullify members who has not provided finger print on party membership forms.
The bill was proposed to the parliament by MP Ibrahim Didi on behalf of the government. In today’s session 40 members voted to pass the amendment while 25 voted against it. One member abstained from voting.
The amendment says that within one month of ratification of this amendment، members should submit their fingerprint to the party. Those who do not will be automatically removed from the party registry.  MP Ibrahim Didi said that this amendment will ensure that all party memberships are valid.
