Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdullah departed the Maldives today on an official visit to Pakistan, at the invitation of Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
He is accompanied by MPs Mohamed Shahid (Khurudhoo), Husni Mubarak (Manadhoo), Yousuf Nasheed (Gan), and Abdulla Shazeeem (Hulhumalé Central).
During the visit, the Maldivian delegation will hold meetings with senior officials of the Pakistani government, including Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and members of the Pakistan-Maldives Parliamentary Friendship Group. The discussions will focus on enhancing parliamentary cooperation, strengthening people-to-people ties, and promoting regional collaboration.
According to Pakistani media, the delegation will also engage in wide-ranging discussions with political leaders and is scheduled to visit historical and cultural landmarks in Islamabad.
This trip reflects the commitment of both countries to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation through parliamentary diplomacy.
