President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the L. Maamendhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss the island’s key development priorities.
During the meeting, held at Maamendhoo School, council members highlighted the island’s most pressing development needs, including resolving ongoing electricity issues and upgrading the electrical network. They also raised concerns about the shortage of space at the island’s school and emphasised the need for additional classrooms and a multi-purpose hall.
The President was accompanied by Cabinet ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises, who also provided updates on ongoing development projects across the atoll.
