Ritz-Carlton Fari Islands service charge for August highest in The Maldives

Ritz Carlton Fari Islands disbursed the highest service charge for resort employees in August 2022, Resort Workers Maldives (RWM) revealed on Saturday.
The resort, which has been open for just over a year, reportedly disbursed USD 1317.58. The service charge provided by Ritz-Carlton Fari Islands is almost double of the average service charge provided by other resorts in the country.
Service charge of tourists is legally enforced, with tourists subjected to minimum 10% from tourist properties. However, Ritz-Carlton’s service charge amount is unusual for low season. High season in Maldives begins in November-January, and again in April for Easter.
The second highest service charge USD 836.11 was disbursed by Anatara Kihavah Maldives in Baa atoll, followed by One and Only Reethi Rah providing USD 787.00.
The lowest service charge from the list by RWM was Kagi Maldives, which provided USD 175.00.
The list by Resort Workers Maldives consists of opportunistic data collected from resort workers, and is not a complete list. The list recorded 26 resorts that disbursed over USD 500 as service charge.
The Ritz-Carlton Fari Islands property is based in North Male’ atoll, which is a 50 minute journey by speedboat or 10 minute journey by seaplane from the international airport. It is part of the Fari Islands group of resorts, and is managed by international luxury brand Marriot-International.
