The Public Service Media (PSM) News is preparing to host its first-ever awards show, the PSM News Awards 2025 to mark its 8th Anniversary.
The award show will be held on 3 May, coinciding with PSM News’ 8th anniversary celebration.
The PSM News Awards was officially launched during the 7th anniversary last year,inaugurated by PSM’s Deputy Managing Director Abdulla Yamin Rasheed. Awards will be presented across a total of 19 categories, including the Best News Anchor and Best News Presenter.
The purpose of the award show is to recognise the hard work and dedication of PSM News employees and encourage them to continue advancing their careers.
Similar to previous years, the PSM News team is working hard to prepare a special line-up of content for its anniversary. PSM News's most important goal remains the delivery of latest news and updates to its audience promptly, broadcasting local news, sports, business news and international news in Dhivehi and English.
In addition to news broadcasts, a range of current affairs programmes are also aired on PSM News. These include business shows, parliamentary coverage and sports shows. In addition, programmes on relations between the Maldives and foreign nations and associations are also aired.
PSM News was established on 3 May, 2017. Although PSM News was launched as a separate channel, its news team is the oldest news team in the Maldives. PSM News is also the country’s first 24-hour news channel.
