The Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence have arrested three individuals in a drug operation conducted in Vilimale’.
The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Imad (30), Mohamed Simrah (43) and Salah Shihab (45) were apprehended and searched on March 9. The police said the searches resulted in the discovery of suspected drugs.
According to the police, the seized drugs weighed 57.78 grams. Additionally, over MVR 241,000, believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking, were also found.
Simrah and Salah have been remanded in custody for 15 days. However, Imad was released by the court. The police is appealing the decision.
