A week after a stabbing incident between two brothers in Hulhumale', police have responded to a similar case in Male' involving two brothers.
Police said they received a report at 18:42 on Sunday about a stabbing at a residence in Male'. One man was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
A 28‑year‑old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Police said the case is under investigation.
The earlier incident occurred last Tuesday in an apartment in the eighth tower of the Hiyaa housing complex in Hulhumale' Phase II.
Police said they responded to a tip‑off about a disturbance in the apartment and found that one of the brothers had been stabbed during the dispute.
The injured man, a 38‑year‑old Indian national, sustained a deep leg wound and a severed main nerve, according to police. He was taken to Hulhumale' Hospital for treatment.
Police said investigations are ongoing in both cases.
