Former President and leader of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Maumoon Abdul Gayoom finally met with members of the party late Monday, despite Police having halted his planned meeting last Wednesday.
Police did not obstruct this meeting which was held at Henveiru ward Themaa house in capital Male, PPM leader’s Office.
Speaking about the meeting, the recently appointed deputy leader of Maumoon’s PPM faction Aminath Nadhira said that the main focus of the meeting was the upcoming Local Council Elections.
Nadhira noted that leader Maumoon received great support from the members.
Maumoon had filed the case of Police obstructing his meeting with PPM members at the National Integrity Commission (NIC) and Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) this week.
