According to CNN’s feature, today’s travelers were “more discerning than ever about their hotel choices” be it for business or pleasure.
The property from Maldives, The Standard is the first tourist stop by popular hotelier chain The Standard operating a range of chic hotels in New York and Los Angeles.
The 115 villa – with many of the abodes in overwater – is a notable departure from the generally noticeable romantic, honeymoon vibes from many other Maldivian resorts.
Instead, The Standard, Maldives opted for a more contemporary look and feel specifically aiming to satiate the traveling desires of millennial travelers with the hotel’s psychedelic decor – disco balls fitted in each of the bathrooms – and neon-pink pool toys.
The attractions of the hotel do not stop there with the inclusion of nightly beach bonfires, drum circles, karaoke and a glass-floored overwater night club that stays vibrant from sun down to sun rise.
