A case filed by Judicial Administration alleging former President Mohamed Nasheed’s Political Advisor Ibrahim Ismail (Ibra) of contempt of court has been sent to Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office.
The case was sent to PG last Thursday.
Police Media Official Inspector of Police Hassan Haneef said today that charges are being filed against Ibra regarding statements made by him on 2 September 2011 at an MDP rally in K. Thulusdhoo.
Ibra had said at the rally that Judges deliver verdicts as they wished, and they can only be ‘stopped’ by the people taking to the streets.
A statement was issued by Supreme Court in response to Ibra’s comments.
