All opposition parties have called the government to stop oppressing the people via the Police. They made this call during the joint press conference held at Adhaalath Party office.
Adhaalath Party’s President Sheikh Imran Abdulla said that the protests of the opposition are being held within the confines of the constitution to advocate for the rights of the people.
Sheikh Imran said that they are protesting because corruption and oppression of the government has gone beyond bounds. He said that the government is not stopping at that and is now sending the Police to confront the people and oppress them.
He said that the people will not back down from protesting regardless how much the government tries to intimidate them.
Sheikh Imran called the Police to support and cooperate with the protestors instead of harassing them and hindering them from speaking against the government.
