MMA has decided that, 28 December will be the last day MMA and banks will provide banking services this year. MMA made this decision because, the government decided to make 29th December a public holiday because 30th and 31st December falls into the weekend.
Every year 31st December is considered as a non-working day for MMA and banks. This is a norm in many other countries as well.
