Colonel Naazim who is serving an 11 year sentence has appealed his sentence and the Supreme Court and the first hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday.
Naazim appealed the case at the High Court and they maintained the verdict of the Criminal Court as well.  The case is scheduled at 11:00 am on Wednesday. Naazim’s lawyer Suood have said that they suspect former VP Adeeb and former CP Hussen Waheed for framing Nazim. Suood also said that they found the person who planted the pistol in Naazim’s apartment.
Suood said that they they will present that person as a witness to the Supreme Court. Usually in appeal cases، new evidence cannot be presented. However if the judges want there is no legal barrier from doing so. At the moment Nazim is under house arrest because his jail cell is undergoing some upgrades.
