Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of India, Minister of Civil Aviation of India, Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, concluded his official visit to the Maldives on Monday.
The Special Envoy’s departure followed a successful programme that included the joint inauguration of the Hanimaadhoo International Airport, developed under the Government of India’s Line of Credit.
During the two-day visit, Minister Naidu paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. He further held meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel and the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen.
The discussions and engagements during the visit highlighted mutual opportunities for collaboration, technical exchange, and investment in infrastructure and aviation services.
The Special Envoy also undertook a familiarisation visit to the seaplane operations sites. The Minister noted the strengthened partnership and enhanced cooperation between India and the Maldives in the transport and civil aviation sectors.
The visit reaffirmed commitment of both countries to further solidify cooperation in the aviation sector.
He was seen off at Velana International Airport by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen.
