Criminal court of the Maldives have sentenced H.Meenaaz Mohamed Waheed to 2 years in jail for obtaining money by deception.
The criminal court ruling says that Mohamed Waheed borrowed RF 30000 from G.Golden House Mohamed Rizwee saying that he needed the money to to a custom clearance for furniture for a 10 story building. A day after he borrowed RF 30،000 he borrowed another 30،000 saying that he needed more money to do the clearance. Also he gave Rizwee a forged registry of a Hulhumale’ row house asking to keep it as a guarantee. Additionally Waheed took another 35،000 from Rizwee saying that he will sell this row house to Rizwee. Criminal court says that this has been proven by witness statements and evidences provided to the court by Rizwee.
Waheed denied all the charged but criminal court found him guilty of obtaining money by deception and sentenced him to two years in prison.
