A nurse working at H.A. Ihavandhoo Health Center has been sentenced for six months in prison by Criminal Court for producing and possessing pornographic materials.
The nurse، identified as a local resident of Ihavandhoo، Fathimath Fazla، Giriteege has been fined with MVR 20،700 for the possession of pornographic material alongside the six month jail term for the production of explicit contents. She is to settle the payment within one month to Criminal Court.
Fazla’s residence was searched by Police on January 2011، and they uncovered 2 memory chips containing pornographic pictures and videos، which showed her having sexually intimate relationships with more than one male. Police also uncovered an “adult toy” with other aforementioned pornographic materials from a drawer in Fazla’s room.
Previously she was charged by state of having sexual intimacy with a family member and abusing a child sexually، but Criminal Court ruled out Fazla was not found guilty of those charges.
