President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has departed for an official trip to China.
President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali tweeted yesterday that President departed for China to take part in two ceremonies to be held in China. Foreign Ministry had previously reported that southern Yunnan province’s capital Kunming City, where he will be participating in the China-South Asia Exposition as well as the Kunming Export and Import Fair.
President Yameen is to give a speech in the two ceremonies for the two fairs which will open on Friday.
President’s Office had not specified the duration of this trip.
This is the third China-South Asia Exposition, while this is the 22ndKunming Export and Import Fair. In addition to SAARC nations, contingents from Saudi Arabia and senior officials of the Chinese Government will take part in the fairs.
