"Jaleel’s dismissal was not endorsed by the Commission" – Umar

The dismissal of the Defence Minister was a decision by the President himself، said Home Minister Umar Naseer.
Speaking to the media at the President’s Office on Tuesday afternoon، Umar said the dismissal was not a recommendation by the presidential commission (National Inquiry Commission)، but a decision made by the president، under his constitutional authority.
Minister Umar made the remarks while many are alleging the Government’s recent changes were provoked by the explosion aboard presidential speedboat ‘Finifenma’ on 28 September 2015.
Major General Rtd. Moosa Ali Jaleel was dismissed as the Minister of Defence and National Security on 14 October 2015. He was appointed as the Minister on 20 January 2015 following the dismissal of former minister Colonel Rtd. Mohamed Nazim.
