Shaviyani Atoll has begun celebrations to mark the 3rd consecutive win in the Enme Ali Gadha Thari competition run by PSM.
Abdu Rasheed from Sh. Feydhoo was the winner in 1435, while Ibrahim Ali from Sh. Lhaimagu was the winner in 1436 and Adam Naseem from Sh. Foakaidhoo this year.
Undoubtedly this is a remarkable, impressive win for the atoll. The win is even more remarkable when one takes into account the 100 percent Muslim status. The atoll itself is a small atoll and the three wins demonstrate that low population was no bar for success.
The three winners from three years arrived in the island at 5pm and was greeted enthusiastically by the whole island. The Foakaidhoo Council President Mohamed Raashid said the whole of the island will participate in the ceremonies.
