Kanditheemu constituency MP, Mohamed Hussein has said that the state budget has grown every passing year and this year a record budget of MVR 24.3 billion has been passed therefore it is necessary to make a study whether the people have benefited enough from these state budgets as expected.
MP Mohamed Hussein said that there are many things to consider regarding these changes to the budget.
“We should think whether the expected benefits were reaped from these budgets. We should look to whether these changes were seen in the state income,” he said.
Mohamed Hussein said that in the past the members of the Peoples’ Majlis do not get the opportunity to debate regarding the budget however now this has changed. “Budget review is generally open,” he said.
MP Mohamed Hussein said that the members who have the capability to review the budget should give their feedbacks, comments and criticism regarding the budget.
Meanwhile, MP Mohamed Hussein made many observations regarding the budget during the debates on the budget.
