Some elite delegates of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) have left to Europe to share that the verdict imposed on Nasheed was partial.
The MDP’s delegation includes Former MP Abdulla Shahid، Former Foreign Minister Ahmed Naseem،Former MP Ahmed Thasmeen، Former Foreign State Minister Ahmed Aslam and Umar Zaahir
Before leaving the country، Shahid stated that the 13 years of prison issued on Nasheed is 13 years of democracy in Jail and he will be sharing this with the countries. He also stated that due the way the trial was conducted the Maldivian citizens are not safe which will be also highlighted in the meetings.
The delegates will first visit to a meeting held in the main office of European Union. After that they will be meeting the France، UK and Denmark’s government.
Even though the verdict of 13 years of jail is issued on Nasheed، MDP has stated they will not accept the verdict and they will be protesting until Nasheed is released.
