Happy that the Maldivian judiciary is finally becoming independent : Qasim

JP leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that finally there are signs that the judiciary of the Maldives is becoming independent and for that he is happy.
Qasim said that the majority of the people said no to the manipulation of judiciary by President Yameen. He said that since then it can be seen that everything is changing. In addition he said that now it is being proven that the authorities were under the influence of someone.
Speaking about the court order to free him under bail, Qasim said that the High Court ordered to do so because they did not want to make a mistake like the Criminal Court.
While noting that the judiciary is on the right path, Qasim thanked the chief judge of High Court Shujaau Usman and the chief justice of the Maldives Dr.Ahmed Abdullah Didi.
“I am not scared. Also we can see that the police, MNDF and other institutions are ready to obey the law” said Qasim.
When President Yameen’s government reduced the budget of the judiciary, Qasim Ibrahim expressed concerns in the parliament. Qasim was a member of the Judicial Service Commission as the representative from the parliament for a long time.
