MDP accepting proposals to amend party regulations

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has begun accepting proposals to amend the party regulations ahead of the party congress.
MDP members can submit amendment proposals to one or more of the party regulations by filling a single Google form with PDF or Microsoft Word file attachments. The main ruling party will be accepting amendment proposals until the end of June.
President of MDP Mohamed Nasheed has said he will propose amendments to the Constitution of the Maldives at the party congress, in order to establish a parliamentary system in the country. He said he will also propose changes to be made to independent institutions, set a limit to the justices at the Supreme Court, and include constitutional amendments related to decentralisation. He also intends to schedule a date to vote on whether to establish a parliamentary system in the Maldives and to instruct the party congress to abide by the results of the vote.
