Pledge to make airports accessible for all to be realised with Muli airport

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced, the government's pledge to make airports accessible within 30 minutes for people living across the country, can be realised next year, upon completion of the airport at Muli in Meemu atoll.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has promised, people living in outer atolls will have access to an airport within 30 minutes.Speaking to PSM News, Minister of State Minister of Transport Ahmed Zuhair has stated all airports which are currently under construction in Maldives would be completed next year.
The State Minister further stated, land reclamation to build airports of Hoarafushi and Fares-Maathoda would be completed and by the end of next year and the airport at Funadhoo in Shaviyani atoll would become operational within one and a half months. Work on Madivaru and Maavaarulhu airports is expected to be completed by the end of this year and their operations will commence by March next year, he said.
