Court tables the final hearing of Moosa Ali Jaleel on Monday

Criminal Court today has scheduled the final hearing of incumbent Defence Minister Major General Rtd. Moosa Ali Jaleel on Monday.
Moosa Ali Jaleel is on trial for his alleged involvement in the ‘kidnapping’ of Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed in 2012، during ex-President Mohamed Nasheed’s trial، when he was the then Chief of Defence Force.
The Presiding Bench also denied the calling of Defence witnesses of Moosa Ali Jaleel، stating their testimonies will not nullify the state-presented witness testimonies and evidences.
The presiding judge، Judge Abdulla Didi said the closing arguments and the summary of the trial will be presented during the hearing tomorrow.
During today’s hearing، only one state-presented witness testified in courtroom. The current Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam was called by the State lawyers، who testified stating ‘he is not aware if Moosa Ali Jaleel took part in the detaining and isolation of Judge Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed.
