"what has been done cannot be perceived as undone" – Prez. Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has claimed the top priority for any government is to provide safety and security as a means of people welfare and the decreasing civic virtues among youngsters cannot be hindered on full ingnorance.
Before leaving to K. Maafushi to observe the Guest House business operating in the island، Nasheed spoke with the press stating the increasing amount of assaults and killing in the community is a growing concern and must not be ingored at any cost.

He also stressed that these interior civil unrest cannot be neglected eventhough Home Minister Umar Naseer، Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim and Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed has claimed otherwise، as he said “everyday assaults are increasing، and actions must be taken about this، but Home Minister، Defense Minister and Commissioner of Police act as if nothing is out of place and these are not concerning matters، but they cannot escape from answering them”.
In addition to this، Nasheed also highlighted the surefire topic of Chinese-led 21st Century Silk Route project، stating that instead of participating in the project Maldives can prosper by using the natural resources of Maldives and thus، Maldives would benefirt the most from Guest House business.
He also stressed that in order for the country to benefit from the said field، government’s responsibility is to provide necessary facilities and equipements to islands to develop these businesses.

President Nasheed was welcomed to K. Maafushi with loud applauses by the residents. He was greeted by residents as well as the guest house business owners in Maafushi.
