The 33 year old youth seriously injured in the road accident in Addu City has died.
Police have informed that the accident occurred in front of Maahera Cafe’ on Hithadhoo main road، at 19:20 on Tuesday night، injuring three men. One man reportedly sustained serious injuries، who later died during treatment at the hospital.
Reports say the youth who died in the accident is Mohamed Atheef، 33، of Kaneeruge، Addu City Hithadhoo.
A witness at the scene of the accident reported that the accident occurred when a speeding motorbike on Hithadhoo main road hit Atheef، who was on the side of the road in a phone call. The witness said that Atheef was thrown  to a distance due to the hit، and that he immediately stood up، and used his own shirt to cover his head، which was bleeding severely.
Atheef was taken to Hithadhoo Regional Hospital on a Police vehicle، and he reportedly told ‘not to keep him anywhere’، according to a witness at the hospital.
The other two men on the motorbike also sustained injuries، but no details of the seriousness of their injuries were reported.
