Government opens land lease opportunity for investors and business entities to develop resorts and guest house at L. Thunburi aimed at small and medium businessmen.
Proposal and bidding for the acquisition of lands from the islands will open up next year on February 26th.
According to an announcement made by MMPRC، the bids or proposals must be submitted to MMPRC office’s Thunburi Project Section located on the 4th floor of Velaanaage Office complex.
Lands will be leased for a total of 25 years period under the Thunburi Project، and prices are set for every 5000 square feet an amount of $30،000 annually and for every 10،000 square feet an amount of $66،000. Apart from this، entities buying the land must also pay a land acquisition cost of $100،000 for every 5000 square feet and $200،000 for every 10،000 square feet.
As per reports Thunburi and parts of neighboring Hulhiyandhoo will be developed as resorts and guests houses including water bungalows sometime on 2016.
According to MMPRC، since the Thunburi Project will result in the development of resorts and guest houses in unique way، the room charges will be priced between $150-300 per night.
Thunburi resort project also includes the development of three resorts housing water bungalows.
