Police have apprehended a nineteen-year-old attempting to smuggle illicit drugs to Maalhosmadulu Uthuruburi (Raa Atoll) Innamadhoo.
The youth reportedly possessed 42 cellophane-wrapped pieces of drugs.
After an intelligence report was received to R. Ungoofaaru Police station، the Police apprehended the nineteen-year-old up on the arrival to R. Innamaadhoo on a ferry from Male’.
Police found 42 cellophane-wrapped pieces of illicit drugs inside a speaker hidden in a bad in his possession.
R. Ungoofaaru Magistrate court has given 10 days detainment for the apprehended for the Police to carry the investigation in an allocated place by Ministry of Home Affairs.
Police of R. Ungoofaaru Police Station are currently investigating the case.
