"Relations with China are leading to rapid economic developments" – Saeed

Economic Minister، Mohamed Saeed has said that the relations Maldives is upholding with China are leading to rapid economical developments.
After signing the MoU to begin negotiations on China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement، Minister said that discussions were held with China today to seek fundings for large projects planned out by the government.
“Discussions were held to seek fundings for joint development projects between the two countries، including the Malé-Hulhumalé bridge project، development of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport، housing and road construction projects”، said Minister Saeed.
Minister said the relations between the Chinese government are leading to fast economic developments and that the bridge design unveiled last night is an evidence of it. Minister Saeed also said that he has high hopes that the bridge will become a reality soon.
After signing the MoU today، Minister said that today will be marked in the history of Maldivian economy and that this is the first free trade agreement for Maldives.
Economic Ministry informs that the free trade agreement will benefit both the countries in terms of business. Moreover، the free trade agreement، once signed، will make it easier to trade between China and Maldives and will increase the chances of expanding investments.
Economic Minister، Mohamed Saeed said that the China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement will be signed some time this year.
