Police has said that suspended lawyers cannot visit people that are detained in Police custody. Information Officer of the Police, Ismail Ali told Sun Media today that lawyers who are suspended would not have any opportunity to meet with people in their custody. And so the lawyer Hussain Shameem has not been allowed to meet with his client, the former Vice President, Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor. Supreme Court suspended Shameem until their investigation on a case against him is complete. Regarding his suspension, Shameem said that he has never committed a c rime and that he is ready to appear at the Supreme Court whenever they want and respond to any questions they might have. Shameem said that he is being investigated for what he said in the press conferences and that they are words he spoke even as the Deputy Prosecutor General. Shameem questioned why he is being investigation now when he was not investigated before.
