Maldivian chefs win bronze at “International Chinese Cuisine World Championship”

Team of Maldivian chefs win bronze medal at “International Chinese Cuisine World Championship” held in China.
The Chinese Cuisine World Championship, initiated by the China Cuisine Association in 2015, was held in Dalian, northeast China’s Liaoning Province, from 22nd to 24th August.
Chef Guild Maldives said that 24 teams consisting of 300 chefs competed in the event. The Maldivian team consisted of 6 chefs. This included Mohamed Adil from Faarafushi Maldives, Ahmed Mazim from Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, Ibrahim Nathif from Baros Maldives, Riffath Mohamed from Malaahini Kuda Bandos, Ahmed Fatheen from Oishii Maldives and Culinary consultant Ibrahim Naeem.
As an important cooking competition held concurrently during World of Food Beijing, the event is the only international level competition for Chinese cuisine certified by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies. Witnessed by the entire hospitality industry, the competition aims to enhance Chinese culture around the world, and increase efforts to promote the internationalization of Chinese cuisine.
