PSM Named Media Partner for Upcoming Juvenile Justice Conference

The Prosecutor General’s Office has appointed Public Service Media (PSM) as the official media partner for the upcoming National Juvenile Justice Conference, scheduled to take place from May 10.
This marks the first national-level conference focused on strengthening the juvenile justice system through a collaborative, multi-agency approach.
An agreement was signed to formalize the partnership, with Director General Aiminath Waheedha representing the Prosecutor General’s Office and Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Yamin Rasheed signing on behalf of PSM.
Public Prosecutor Ahmed Naushad stated that the primary aim of the conference is to address systemic challenges through evidence-based research. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between all stakeholders in achieving the objectives of the Juvenile Justice Act.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office is spearheading this effort to unite all key agencies. The goal is to openly discuss challenges and collectively seek data-driven solutions,” Naushad said, adding that findings and outcomes from the event will be formally presented for policy consideration.
The conference will feature eight research papers from academic institutions and government agencies, along with two keynote addresses. A total of 16 agencies, including the Prosecutor General’s Office, UNICEF, the Maldives Police Service, and the Ministry of Social and Family Development, will participate as technical partners, while 11 others will join as observers.
Sessions will include panel discussions, data-sharing presentations, and collaborative dialogues aimed at reducing barriers within the juvenile justice system.
