Villimale' should not be neglected, says President Muizzu

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged that Villimale' will receive equal attention in development, stressing that his government will deliver projects that previous administrations failed to accomplish.  
Speaking at a public meeting with Villimale' residents on Sunday evening, President Muizzu said he does not believe the island should be discriminated against or left behind in the development of Male' City.  
“I believe that development should come to all the people of Male' City equally. I don’t believe that Villimale' should be neglected or discriminated against,” he said.  
The President noted that he had worked to develop Villimale' during his tenure as Mayor of Male' before assuming the presidency on November 17, 2023.

The President announced several upcoming projects for Villimale', including:  
Construction of a 1,200-seat sports complex beginning next year.  
Upgrading the football stadium to meet FIFA standards.  
Installation of a dollar ATM before March.  
Road repairs to resolve water and sewerage issues.  
Relocation of services from the existing hospital to another site to allow construction of the new tertiary hospital.  
This was President Muizzu’s first public meeting with residents of an island in Male' City since taking office.
