“Future Imam” competition launched in Maungoodhoo to train students in leading prayers

A competition titled “Future Imam” is currently underway in Sh. Maungoodhoo to train students in the art of leading prayers (Imamship).
This program is a collaborative effort between the Maungoodhoo Island Council and the NGOs Khidhumath, Ukulhas Hope, Jamiyyathul Qalam, and Manfaa.
Targeted at male students from Grades 5 to 10 who are proficient in reading Arabic and Dhivehi, the program officially commenced last Sunday.
The program is structured as a competition where students can win special prizes across several categories. These categories include the Call to Prayer (Adhan), delivering the Friday Sermon (Khutbah), the second call to prayer (Iqamah), leading the prayer (Salah), and a written exam on Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh).
The competition will award prizes for:
  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Adhan and Iqamah
  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Khutbah delivery
  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall in the competition
According to the Maungoodhoo Council, the objective of this competition is to instill a love and spirit for Imamship in children from a young age, and to build a generation of skilled individuals who are well-versed in these religious duties. Furthermore, it aims to foster a deeper interest and passion for the role of an Imam among students.
The program is scheduled to run for a duration of one month.
