Saudia marks 10 years of Maldives operations

Saudi Arabia’s national airline, Saudia, has marked the 10th anniversary of its operations to the Maldives, with a special celebration held at Velana International Airport (VIA).
Saudia first launched flights to the Maldives on 30 March 2016. To commemorate the milestone, passengers arriving on a flight from Saudi Arabia were welcomed at the airport, while departing passengers were also presented with gifts.
Officials noted that a decade of operations has contributed to strengthening bilateral ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
According to available figures, 3,546 tourists from Saudi Arabia had visited the Maldives as of February this year, accounting for 0.8% of total arrivals.
