President Abdulla Yameen has dismissed Mohamed Maleeh Jamal and appointed Ahmed Zuhoor as Minister of Youth and Sports.
The President has also appointed Iruthisham Adam as Minister of Health, to replace Zuhoor.
Neither Maleeh nor the government has commented on Maleeh’s dismissal.
The first post held by Zuhoor in the current government is the post of Commissioner of Customs.
He was appointed Minister of Health two months ago.
Until now, Iruthisham Adam held the post of Deputy Minister of Law and Gender.
She has previously served as Maldives Ambassador to the United Nations Office at Geneva, and the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
