Today marks the one year anniversary since Minivan News reporter and famous blogger، Ahmed Rilwan went missing – and supporters، acquaintances and family members commemorated the anniversary with a special walk dubbed “Suvaalu March”.
The march took place today sometime in evening، from Social Center at Maafannu and the participants concluded the walk upon reaching Artificial Beach at Henveiru. One individual was arrested during today’s event for disobeying police order، however was let go shortly.
Apart from Rilwan’s family، relatives and acquaintances some of the Parliament members had taken part in today’s peaceful demonstration.
Friends and family of the missing Minivan News reporter، Ahmed Rilwan، expressed their grief and concern about his sudden disappearance back in March، 2014. The prime concern and question on everyone who spoke during today’s event was about the lack of detail disclosed about the case and the lack of definite cooperation from authorities in providing progress of the case to media or those concerned.
Today’s commemoration walk concluded with participants offering prayer for the safety and wellness of Rilwan.
Meanwhile، authorities report that the search for Ahmed Rilwan is proceeding without any interruption.
