President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy ‎to the Chinese President, His Excellency Xi Jinping, following a devastating landslide in Shenzen.
The President’s message reads as follows: ‎
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the devastating landslide to hit the city of Shenzen, causing grievous injury to many and leaving dozens still unaccounted for.”
“In this hour of deep distress, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in sending our profound sympathy to you, the Government, and the people of China.”
“I wish the recovery efforts every success and commend the tenacity of the people of China in the face of such tragedy.”
